Designed with beginners in mind, this class offers a supportive foundation for anyone curious about abstract art, mixed media techniques, or collage. You’ll be guided through approachable processes that remove the pressure of “getting it right” and instead focus on exploration, curiosity, and creative confidence.
 
Through clear, step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to build layers using a variety of materials, create visual interest through texture, and develop depth and dimension in your work. We’ll also explore colour choices - how different palettes can shift mood, evoke emotion, and add narrative to your compositions.
 
By the end of the workshop, you’ll not only have a finished piece but also a set of techniques and ideas you can return to again and again in your own creative practice. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to loosen up, try something new, and enjoy the process of making art without rules or expectations.
 
You will complete one abstract work incorporating different media such as collage, acrylic, inks and pastels and techniques, including stencilling and stamping.
